Country Side Living (CSL) is a small community serving the unique needs of elderly residents, enriching their lives by providing a family atmosphere, caring support, and interesting activities appropriate to their lifestyle. Residents live in small group homes designed to meet the special challenges of Alzheimer's and other forms of Dementia. The range of support options allows residents the option to remain at Country Side Living, even if their health situation changes.
Residents live in comfortable, home-like buildings arranged around a central common building. The site is further enhanced by a small farm, providing positive activities for residents along with a tangible connection with the "countryside".
The community atmosphere is enhanced by the child daycare, restaurant/bakery and great hall/educational area in the common building, where many of the activities are held. Daily life includes educational opportunities, crafts, entertainment and a warm, comfortable, home-like setting.
Resident's benefit from caring support staff who know each resident and are able to understand and communicate positively with each individual. Care providers are encouraged to take time to interact personally, to share life with residents, as well as provide for needs. Care providers are trained to contribute to a satisfying life experience for each resident, including those with special needs.
Country Side Living serves people ranging in age from 50 to 100, with most residents moving to Country Side from communities in Northwestern Oregon. People who decide to live at Country Side, and family members who select Country Side for their loved ones, do so based upon their desire for elder-care where people understand the needs of the elderly, where individuals come first, and where the size and design of the building gives residents the feeling they are "at home".
Staff at Country Side Living exhibits calm understanding to each resident in all situations, and makes every effort to let residents know they are valued.
